ST-403 "Cayman" is the best bug scanner available on the market. It is a miniature version of the popular series of detectors capable of finding even the smallest surveillance devices of all kinds. The bug scanner is truly unique while carrying out regular searching of rooms and before important meetings.

Operation of the bug scanner is based on the feature that is common for all semi-conductor circuits i.e. actuation with an electro-magnetic signal which enforces emission of both the 2nd and 3rd harmonic of the signal and depending on the type of the semi-conductor the actuation signals can be stronger for the 2nd or 3rd harmonics. Transistors, diodes, integrated circuits generate stronger response to 2nd harmonic of the actuating signal, while the natural oxidation will generate stringer signal at 3rd harmonics of the actuating signal. The bug scanner enables it to analyse the responses of both 2nd and 3rd harmonics of the actuating signal, which makes it possible to precisely identify all kinds of electronic devices and natural oxide semiconductors. Additionally, the ST-403 „Cayman” bug scanner shows the signal strength reflected from the metal parts.
Owing to multifrequency actuating signal in 2-3 GHz band, the device is able to detect and locate even small devices such as SIM cards. The appearance of false alarms has been reduced thanks to the fast signal processing algorithm. New design of the elliptic antenna allows to achieve high sensitivity with relatively low intensity of the actuating signal. Upon detection of a signal device emits an audible signal whose volume can be adjusted.
Contrary to the model ST-402, ST-403 is smaller, neater and lighter as the telescopic beam has been reduced. The 403 model has been designed first of all for at-hand operation. The device is powered by Li-Ion 18650 rechargable batteries and the whole set is enclosed in a portable case resistant to weather conditions.
