The EOTech 518 is a holographic sight that distinguishes itself from competing collimators by the way it projects the aiming mark. The target remains in the optical axis of the sight even when the shooter moves his sight away from it, e.g. when the weapon is tilted. This allows for an effective exchange of fire even under extreme combat conditions.
The EOTech 518 collimator offers a very long operating time. The unit runs on two AA 1.5V lithium batteries, which provide approximately 1,000 hours of continuous use on normal settings. When using two AA alkaline batteries, the operating time is approximately 600 full hours. It is also possible to use rechargeable power packs.
Using the EOTech 518 sight, the shooter is assured of focusing on the target in both bright light and darker scenery. The product offers 20 different daylight brightness settings. The user can therefore adjust the visibility according to their needs and the conditions.
Buttons for controlling the aiming dot and calibrating the unit are located on the side of the unit. This makes it much easier for the shooter to use them quickly and conveniently during the exchange of fire. Additionally, thanks to this solution, the sight takes up less space on the rail, which makes it possible to attach an additional magnifier to it. The 518 also has a lever for quick mounting and dismounting on the Weaver rail. Once re-mounted, the sight returns to its original setting.
In addition to its overall durability and the very good quality of the product, it is also resistant to immersion in water up to a depth of 3 metres. The sight will therefore perform well even in the most rainy weather conditions.
The 518 is also compatible with the new EOTech insertable laser battery caps. These have been designed to improve targeting with visible and infrared lasers.
