To work, night vision devices require a minimum dose of ambient light (e.g. dispersed moonlight, starlight, or artificial sources of light in the vicinity), which can be amplified by an image intensifier. With the Armasight XLR850 IR illuminator, it is possible to operate at complete lack of ambient light.

Long range IR illuminator increases the efficiency of work – a significant increase of brightness in the image in area lighted by infrared beam. The XLR850 illuminator uses a diode emitter working in infrared band – waves of 850 nm length which are invisible for the naked eye. The used optics guarantees very high efficiency.

Thanks to the possibility of beam angle regulation (2 to 50°), the user is able adjust the characteristics of the ir illumniator to their own needs. Additionally, the XLR850 illuminator allows to install a teleconverter, which increases the device's effective range up 1200 meters! The XLR850 model is powered by a 18650 Li-Ion battery, allowing for 3.5 h of continuous operation.
