Thermal imaging devices operate in infrared band, normally invisible to human eyes. Basically, heat is the source of thermal radiation. Every object warmer than absolute zero (-273,15°C) emits electromagnetic radiation in the infrared band. This phenomenon was harnessed and allowed to create a number of devices projecting image visible for human eyes regardless of the environment and weather conditions such as dense smoke, dust, fog, complete darkness, etc.

The TWS-series thermal imaging scopes are known for their excellent manufacturing top-quality components. Their construction is based on an uncooled FPA microbolometer, which makes the projected image clearer and more dynamic than those provided by competitors' solutions. The secret behind TWS' performance is the combination of highly advanced processing algorithms and software developed by a team of competent engineers.

Depending on particular variant, thermal imaging scopes are powered with 2 or 4 replaceable AA batteries, allowing for a quick change of depleted sets of batteries. Operation time depends on utilised batteries: alkaline, rechargeable, or lithium-based, and can last anywhere between 5 and 11 hours. The device is enclosed in a reinforced aluminium housing with rough surface structure, which makes it easier to hold and prevents it from slipping out of the operator's hand. The TWS-series devices come with a variety of resolutions, refresh rates, sizes, and lens diameters.
