Designed as an advanced equipment military goggles, Armasight Nyx-7 Pro was designed for mounting on the operator's head (assembly included) or a helmet. Its construction allows to raise the device when not needed – it will stay raised and do not obstruct the operator's field of view. Bi-ocular sight facilitates observation and moving around with the night vision goggle on. An innovation in the Nyx-7 Pro military variant is its ocular system allowing to adjust their position without any moving elements (due to an internal prism system), which allows the device to remain completely waterproof.

The device is very versatile due to numerous external accessories, including additional 3× to 8× magnification, which allow to increase effective observation range. The Nyx-7 Pro night vision goggles can be used as an observation binocular as well. Armasight military goggles are available in several variants differing in image intensifier resolution, including devices utilising QuickSilver technology to provide grayscale image.

Armasight Nyx-7 Pro goggle is based on a generation 2+ image intensifier. It utilises intensifiers of non-standard construction, offering impact and mechanical damage resistance far superior to standard versions. Devices of this generations are known for their very high efficiency and ability to work even in very weak residual light conditions (e.g. during cloudy nights, with moon- and starlight scant and diffused). Due to use of an MCP plate (electronic system causing exponential increase in number of electrons in result of consecutive collisions with a micro-channel plate – every electron ejected from the photocathode is multiplied), it is possible to achieve light amplification factor as high as 50 000.

Military goggles for night vision use a number of technological solutions facilitating the operation of the device. Automatic brightness control enables operation in changing lighting conditions. The operator does not need to adjust image brightness manually – it is constantly kept on an optimal level. Bright light cut-off system will switch the device off should light intensity exceed safe level, protecting the Nyx-7 Pro military goggles from possible damage. Built-in short range IR illuminator allows to use the device even in conditions of complete lack of residual light. The military goggles are also compatible with high powered illuminators, which can greatly increase the device's effectiveness and allow for long range observation.
