Armasight Janus is a top-notch digital thermal imaging binocular, designed for observation of large areas both at night and during the day.
The Armasight's Janus model was designed for professional use, especially operation in varying lighting conditions – e.g. patrolling areas partially illuminated by floodlights, such as correctional facilities, or industrial premises requiring constant surveillance. Its versatility makes this bi-ocular a frequent choice for amateur purposes, such as hunting or nocturnal wildlife observation.
Night vision image is displayed on an AMOLED screen, which ensures clear and undistorted sight. The compact construction of the Janus thermal imaging binocular was designed for maximum ergonomics, while bi-ocular vision causes little eyestrain during prolonged observation. Handling the device is simple and intuitive – all settings can be modified in an on-screen menu, or using ergonomic functional buttons.
Contrary to analogue night vision devices, Armasight Janus thermal imaging biocular is not affected by exposure to bright light sources – it poses no risk of damage to the device. Janus is a digital construction based on a black-and-white CCD sensor highly sensitive to visible light and near-IR wavelengths.
10× magnification optical system is made of precisely crafted glass lenses covered with multilayered anti-reflective coating. It ensures obtaining undistorted and clear image.
The Janus thermal imaging binocular comes with an XLR850 external IR illuminator, allowing to use the device at complete lack of ambient light, and providing effective illumination and increased efficiency at long range observation (illuminaion range up to 900 meters).
The thermal imaging binocular is equipped with a video output, which allows to connect it to a dedicated Armasight Recorder DT in order to record camera image on replaceable memory cards. The compact recorder can be easily attached on a mounting rail and connected to the camera. It is also possible to connect an external display unit (PAL/NTSC format).
The thermal imaging binocular is waterproof and able to operate in virtually any conditions. Armasight Janus' compact construction is resistant to mechanical damage and adverse weather conditions. Manufactured with high quality materials, it guarantees long-lasting and failure-free operation.
Included wireless remote facilitates quick switching the device on and off.
The Janus thermal imaging binocular is powered with a CR123A battery (work time up to 3h), or with an optional Extended Batery Pack (work time up to 8h), ensuring convenient power supply and ability to quickly replace discharged batteries.
