The Mini-Z mobile X-ray scanner will quickly and flawlessly scan a vehicle or parcel for contraband drugs, cash, explosives and other threats. It was developed to facilitate customs and law enforcement inspections.

Operational capabilities

The Mini-Z handheld X-ray scanner, also known as a contraband detector, is a non-invasive tool for combating terrorism and revealing attempts to transport illegal goods. It works on the basis of the proven Z Backscatter technology, which is already well known from the ZBV mobile X-ray scanners.

Importantly, the Mini-Z portable scanner has a relatively lightweight, ergonomic design. Thanks to its easy portability, it makes inspection more efficient and reaches small, hard-to-reach places. It scans at 15 m/s, including parcels, backpacks, walls, vehicles, tyres, furniture and luggage hatches. It is used in providing security at airports, critical infrastructure facilities and border crossings.

Real-time imaging

Advanced algorithms immediately identify the threat and visualise the location being checked, declassifying its contents. This displays on the included Windows 10 IoT tablet. The devices connect wirelessly, via a WiFi network.

Power supply and operating time

The Mini-Z X-ray hand-held scanner requires no set-up configuration - it is immediately ready for use. A charged battery provides it with 4 hours of effective detection, with the manufacturer including up to two cells for a total of 8 hours.
