Infrared security camera - L-3 TSC4500-E

The L-3 TSC4500-E infrared security camera is a powerful device created with security and protection in mind, from industrial buildings, public areas such as airports or harbours, to surveillance of state borders. It provides the most advanced image processing technology and low noise levels, allowing more efficient identification of targets at long range.

Thermal imaging allows to see in total darkness, as well as in adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, haze, or smog. Unlike night vision devices, thermal imaging cameras do not require any source of light, since their principle of operation is based on the capture of infrared radiation emitted by every object, its intensity depending on the temperature. The L-3 TSC4500-E infrared security camera has a highly sensitive sensor able to detect even very small temperature differences, which are then converted to images visible to the camera operator.

This industrial infrared security camera is based on an amorphous silicon microbolometer sensor made from elements as small as 30μm in diameter, which allowed infrared technology to be combined with a compact size. The L-3 TSC4500-E camera’s sensor has a resolution of 320 × 240 pixels and a refresh rate of 9 Hz (there are also 25Hz PAL and 30Hz NTSC versions available, subject to authorisation). Lenses with 50°, 25°, 18° or 12° angles of view allow to customise the infrared camera to the user's current needs. Depending on the version of the optics, the L-3 TSC4500-E can detect a human silhouette from as far as 900 metres away!
