Infrared monocular - Armasight Prometheus Mini greatly facilitate observation of scenes and allow to detect and identify objects at very long distances. The Prometheus Mini can operate both during the day and at night, ensuring visibility in any kind of weather conditions. It does not utilise additional IR illuminators and does not emit any electromagnetic radiation, which makes it undetectable for other devices.

The video output allows to connect the device to an Armasight DT digital recorder and to record video material in PAL/NTSC format. It makes Prometheus Mini a perfect choice for tactical operations conducted by military, police, or special forces,, as well as for demanding civilian users.   ADVANCED FLIR SENSOR

  The thermal imaging monocular is based on a uncooled microbolometer sensor FLIR Quark 2 (17-micron pixel Uncooled VOx Microbolometer), a product of a company recognized as a leader in thermal imaging technology.

  CLEAR AND SHARP IMAGE

  Thermal imaging utilises heat radiation – any object with temperature above the absolute zero emits infrared radiation. Spectral analysis of this radiation allows to measure the temperature very accurately at long distances, and to prepare graphic representation of spatial distribution of temperature. Even the smallest of changes are recognized and can be converted into images.

  OPERATION INDEPENDENT OF WEATHER CONDITIONS

  Thermal imaging devices can be used effectively in any lighting conditions (unlike night vision devices, which require a certain level of ambient light, or rely on external IR illuminators) or weather – they are not affected by precipitation, or presence of dust or smoke in observed area.

  SPECIALIST SOFTWARE

  Additionally, Hyper-Image Processing (HIP) software grants the user access to advanced image processing functions and allows to adjust them to current needs.

  COMPACT, CONVENIENT CONSTRUCTION

  Compact construction, small size, and weight of just 230 grams allow to conceal the Prometheus Mini with ease, e.g. in a pocket, a backpack, or attached to a tactical vest. It will not hinder the user's mobility. Moreover, the device comes with a built-in compass and inclinometer – tools allowing the user to quickly calculate a target's location and the distance to it.

Advanced image processing functions

• Active Contrast Enhancement (ACE) based on dynamic change of settings, depending on ambient temperature.
• Second Generation Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE) – digital sharpness correction to produce clearer images with more pronounced edges and reduced noise.
• Smart Scene Optimization (SSO) – precise adjustment of image parameters, improving overall visibility of objects of thermal signatures similar to ambient temperature.
• Information-Based Histogram Equalization (IBHEQ) – an enhancement utilising an environment dependent algorithm automatically adjusting camera gain in order to exclude pixels not containing critical information; especially useful during observation of uniform scenes, such as sky and large bodies of water, to improve visibility of objects against their background.
• User-Controlled Manual Non-Uniformity Correction/ Flat-Field Correction (UCMNUC/ FFC) – non-uniformity correction, or flat-field correction. The shutter presents a uniform temperature source to each detector element in the array. While imaging the flat-field source, the camera updates the offset correction coefficients, allowing to obtain a more uniform image. Operation controlled manually.
• Silent Shutterless NUC™ (SSN) – In addition to manually operated NUC/FFC, the device employs a supplemental flat-field correction to further reduce image noise.
