Armasight Helios FLIR Tau2 is a modern thermal bi-oculars based on advanced construction and technological solutions. It was designed for demanding customers, such as uniformed services, police forces, army, security guards, and users looking for uncompromising devices, which can be used in any weather and lighting conditions.
Sturdy and comfortable construction of Helios thermal binoculars enables long-term observations, while its two lenses enhance depth perception and distance assessment. The thermal imaging bi-ocular design was based on a non-cooled microbolometer core Tau2 from FLIR (a leader in thermal imaging technology). The core is covered by a producer's warranty for a period of 10 years.
The thermal imaging technology is based on the phenomenon of thermal radiation, i.e. the fact that every object emits thermal radiation in infrared wavelengths, which can be subsequently analysed in order to precisely measure the temperature of the object even from a very long distance. Spatial distribution of temperatures is subsequently used to generate the proper thermal image. The microbolometer core of the Thermal binoculars for the police is so sensitive that it is able to detect even minimal temperature differences and transform them into the image visible for humans. FLIR Tau2 is effective in any weather, such as heavy fog, dust or smog, as well as in poor light conditions. Contrary to the night vision devices, which require small amount of residual light to generate an image, the thermal imaging bi-ocular does not need any additional equipment for enhancing visibility, such as active IR illuminators, which can reveal your location to other devices.
The Helios thermal imaging bi-oculars greatly facilitates observation and monitoring of vast areas, both during the day and during the night, as well as enables detection and recognition of different objects from very long distances. Armasight Helios is equipped with a sensor operating in two resolutions: 324×256, the latter guaranteeing far more precise reproduction of every detail. The user can also choose between lens with 42 mm or 75 mm focal length, depending on his needs.
FLIR Tau2 thermal bi-oculars is the best device in its category. The list of its main advantages includes: compact construction, low weight, top class microbolometer core from a leading manufacturer, 10 years warranty and precise optical components made of germanium. It is also possible to attach the Recorder DT digital camera to the binoculars, thus enabling direct video recording in PAL or NTSC format. The set includes wireless remote control for easy turning the device on and off. The waterproof durable housing of the device is made of aluminium, which makes it highly resistant to mechanical damage.
