TIM-14 thermal monocular, manufactured by GSCI in Canada, utilises state-of-the-art technologies and construction solutions. These device was designed for the best technical parameters possible, versatility in tactical applications, ease of use, and compact and lightweight construction. The TIM-14 line consists of devices perfectly suited for applications in the military, police forces, and any situation calling for exceptional functionality, reliability and versatility.
Its compact, versatile and lightweight construction – just 360g – allows to – use the thermal monocular in a variety of configurations, either as a handheld device, mounted on a head assembly or a helmet, on a weapon, or on a tripod.
The thermal monocular was based on a highly advanced uncooled microbolometer sensor with 384×288 or 640×480 resolution and refresh rate from 25Hz to 60Hz, depending on variant. Thermal imaging utilises the phenomenon of thermal radiation. Every object warmer than absolute zero emits electromagnetic radiation in infrared band. Spectral analysis of this radiation allows to accurately measure temperature at long distances, enabling spatial imaging of temperature dislocation and displaying in on screen in understandable form. Human beings can be detected from over 900m, while tanks are visible from over 3100m.
Thermal imaging devices can work in any lighting and weather conditions. Contrary tio night vision devices, they do not require ambient light or active illuminators to operate, which makes them completely undetectable. Imaging is possible also in dusty environments, dense smoke, or during rainfall.
Thermal monocular TIM-14 is available in several variants, differing in utilised sensors and functionalities. It allows the operator to choose a solution suitable to their needs and budget. Battery power enables up to 7h of continuous operation, with additional option of using an external power source. Its versatilce construction allows to quickly install the monocular on a tripod, a weapon, or a head assembly.
Extremely durable housing guarantees protection against shock and mechanical damage. It is also waterproof, meaning it can be used in any weather conditions. A 7-year warranty issued by its Canadian manufacturer confirms the quality of the device itself and applied technologies.
